Hello,
I've a SCCM 2012 where i created a Test Server Site role on a w2012 server.. it installed correctly but now i need to remove it and install it as a Secondary Site.
I removed every single role but still one remains and there's no way to toggle it. It's the "Sistem Site" Role. When i select it the remove role option is gray and i could just watch the proprieties. I've read in other threads that sometimes is
just matter of time, or i could just add some more roles and then remove them, or in other cases a reboot would automaticly remove the server from list but after 24h and several reboots nothing has happened.
Anyone has an idea of how i could solve the problem?
thanks in advance..

Hi,
I have few clients using Checkpoint VPN NGX R60 and client deployment was failed on these machines due to its service is started during start-up.
I found that if I changed the services name "SR_Service" and "SR_Watchdog" startup type to Manual, SCCM client will be able to install successfully.
How can I disable those services on machines, and client only start to install once the services is disabled.
Client deployment is through Group Policy.
Many thanks in advanced.

Hi,
If we upgrade SCCM 2007 SP1 to SP2 then it is mandatory to upgrade clients version from SP1 to SP2?
If SCCM 2007 server is in SP2 and clients are in lower version (SP1), will they communicate each other?
Can I push OSD package/software/patch from SCCM 2007 SP2 server to lower version (SP1) clients?
Please help.
The wrong site code was used when installing a secondary site: PO1 when it should have been P01. It therefore will not become a child site of the real parent site P01 - i.e. ConfigMgr Console does not have this new Secondary site.
I found one registry key referencing the Parent Site Code in the secondary site server's registry that has PO1 in it. I can also see in the sitestat.log and sender.log that this server is trying to send to the destination site PO1 which of course does not exist. This is the only error in the setup of the new secondary site - the primary site server name is right, the client on the secondary is good, AD is good, etc. The secondary site server does seem to communicate with the primary from what I can see in some of the log files, but the ConfigMgr Console for P01 does not see the new site.
Is there anything that can be done to modify this site so it becomes a child site of P01?
Thanks for any help or direction you can provide.
OK I know there are other queries similar to this but none have the answer that is working for me, most likely it is because I have a firewall in the mix. I have a server in the DMZ that I have modified the HOSTS file so that the machine can see the SCCM server, and I can ping each server from the other, but I cannot ping the behind the firewall server from the SCCM application. I cannot copy the logs but they look a lot like the ones I have been seeing posted by others. I try to install the client by putting in
ccmsetup.exe SMSSITECODE=XXX SMSMP=XXXXX.XX.XXXX.XXX
I have tried copying the longer script that is in Client Push Installation/Installation Properties settings but the rest of the script seems to look like it is just log settings.
I have modified the GP to "Specify the intranet Microsoft update service location"
No matter the configuration (I tired several) I get the following errors:
No MP or source location has been specified. Trying to discover a valid content location...
Looking for MPs from AD...
Unexpected row count (0) retieved from AD
GetADInstallParams failed with 0x80004005
Couldn't find an MP source through AD. Error 0x80004005

This is not a question but a RFC for an update with a similar function like below. First of all it is an awesome script. But we noticed a couple of things we thought we'd change to support multiple languages.
This is a change that we introduced since we support both Norwegian and English Operations Systems. Because the local administrator group name might differ from country to country. This function works fine but if you see a better solution to introduce this fix then please do so.
Function GetLocalAdminGroupName Dim network Dim colAccounts Dim objWMIService Dim objAccount Set network = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network") Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & network.ComputerName & "\root\cimv2") Set colAccounts = objWMIService.ExecQuery ("Select * From Win32_Group Where LocalAccount = TRUE And SID = 'S-1-5-32-544'") For Each objAccount in colAccounts GetLocalAdminGroupName = objAccount.Name Next End Function
And change the line 1010:
localAdminGroupName = GetOptionValue(OPTION_LOCALADMIN_GROUP,DEFAULT_LOCALADMIN_GROUP, options)
to
localAdminGroupName = GetLocalAdminGroupName

Hi,
I downloaded SCCM 2012 R2 through my Windows Intune subscription. It says that I also have use rights for SQL Server Standard Runtime. But in the SCCM media I downloaded it doesn't seem to have SQL Server Standard. The product key I got is for SCCM and does not cover SQL Server. I'm baffled as to how I'm supposed to install SQL Server Standard Runtime. I was under the impression that the SCCM install will give the option to install this but it does not and expecting SQL Server to be pre-installed on the server or a remote SQL Server. I would appreciate some help.
This is what I've got
System Center 2012 R2 Config Mgr Client Mgmt License
Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager makes it easier for IT to
empower users to be productive with a unified infrastructure that delivers and
manages rich user experiences across corporate and consumer devices. This
license includes use rights to Virtual Machine Manager and SQL Server 2012
Standard runtime.
Thanks
I am setting up a secondary site within a 2 way trasitive forest trust.
So the primary site is on Domain A and the new secondary site is on Domain B.
We run the SCCM enviroment in mixed mode
I have put in place some prerequisites
added:
sccmadmin in Domain A to Domain B Domain Admins
sccmread.in Domain A to Domain B Domain Users
to match the setup on Domain A
We have built the SCCMServer in Domain B
My plan is to then create a new secondary site from the primary using FQDN with new sitecode
My question is have i missed anything before creating the new secondary site.
Your advice will be so helpful..
Paul
We use SCCM to patch our server environment. We have approx 600 servers. We have a static list of most systems and when a new one is built the list gets updated.
The problem we face is that some times servers for one reason or another "fall out" of SCCM or the SCCM Client is bad and isn't actually in SCCM Database. So if the system is not in the SCCM database the reports never show it as requiring patches, so it is overlooked.
Is there a script of some sort to run independantly of SCCM on say a text file for server name input, and check the servers for a success in hardware invetory in the logs, or any other log files that may better tell a SCCM client is in need of repair? The query would need to look at the lines of code in log for the spefic "SUCCESS" and then a time and if greater than say 48hrs of current date, it would record the name of the system to an output file so a Tech can jump on the box and look into the SCCM client and repair.
Is this doable, is there anything like it already possibly?
Hello everybody.
Good day to you.
Just a quick question on setup/deployment part where we have to configure SQL DB on separate drive (as pictured below).
I'd just like to ask about autogrowth settings.
What does it mean by Autogrowth ('By 1 MB, unrestricted growth' AND 'By 10 percent, restricted growth to xxx MB') ?
2. What's the best practice for managing this autogrowth? Just leave it to the default will do?
Many thanks for advices!

Hello World,
I have this remote server that used to be a sms 2003 secondary site server. We uninstalled the SMS role. And used the server as an SCCM remote distribution point. We also want to install an client agent on that server machine. But no mather how i try to install the client i always see the same error in ccmsetup.log:

I think the installer finds some remenance of the old SMS_MP. When looking i found some remains in IIS . I tried to remove the remains but still have the same error when installing the client. I uninstalled IIS completly. Can someone tell me where the client installer looks for the MP version? Would it help if i installed an SCCM MP on that server and the uninstalled it (Upgrade the MP)?

I'm looking for a way to use a report or SQL query to get Discovery info on a hierarchy of SCCM servers (Region (multiple Domain) tier, Domain tier, and site Tier--report to be run at the Region tier).
Is there a View or Table that will list the LDAP queries used in the various Discovery methods (in the Acitive Directory Containers area--we always use custom queries, not whole Domain or site, etc.), and if recursive or including groups? I know that this info shows up in SiteCtrl.ct0, but, was hoping to be able to do a report.
This, along with a corresponding Boundary report, would be used to do a true-up or audit at sites, to ensure we have the right info in the configurations of each site server.
Thanks!
