Hello all,
Environment:
- SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 on a Win Server 2003 box
- IP ranges used for boundaries
- 7 Standard DP's (5 protected + 2 unprotected, BITS configured
- 5 protected BDP's
Now, I have to add more protected BDP's and each BDP will have only one boundaries assigned (IP range). Same situation as with 5 existing ones.
OK, so I add a new server, add DP role, configure Branch Distribution point as protected and set D drive for packages. (Exactly the same as 5 existing ones.
The problem here is that nothing happens! I can see new server in Site Systems, SCCM client on target device is working just fine, there is nothing under "Protected" column under Boundaries nodeI cannot see new BDP in New Distribution Point wizard
(when I want to add a package to new BDP).
The BDP's were installed on Firday last week (I tried four of them, just to be sure) and still no movement.
The PeerDPAgent.log file from one device repeates following lines:
"eerDP Agent is not enabled
Not processing message (<PDPScheduledMaintenance MessageType='PDPStatusTask'/>) as agent is not acting as BDP
Not processing message (<PDPPkgProvisioningStatus PackageType='Pending'/>) as agent is not acting as BDP"
Is there anything else that I can check?
Thanks!
L.

Client push or OSD task sequence install older client
I see this question frequently in the forums but usually the answer comes down to how to automatically upgrade clients once installed. I would really like a push client install or OSD client install to install the most current client version from the get-go.
Environment is SCCM 2012 SP1 CU1 server (single primary site with all roles on it), pushing to mostly windows 7 SP1 64-bit workstations, but same result with 32-bit or Windows 8.
When I push the client from the SCCM management console, the workstation installs version 5.0.7804.1000. This makes sense, because that is what the server has in\\SCCM01.ourdomain.com\SMS_STE\Client. But the client is not fully functional at this point. It shows as Active but reports as offline in the console when I, for example, try to send a client notification from the console.
If I reboot the client workstation, a ccm upgrade kicks off. After which the client reports its version as 5.00.7804.1202. At this point I can fully manage the workstation. Trouble is this delay and extra install slow OSD and pushes and are causing some workflow problems. I could see no clues in Windows\ccmsetup\Logs.
Here is my real question: Is there any way to have OSD tasks and client pushes to install the current version of the client instead of the older version that needs to be updated?
Thanks for your reply,
Gary

Distribution Point not sync with Central Server
Hi guys,
I have this setup on my environment:
1. ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 R2 on Central Site (parent), SQL 2005, Windows 2008 R2
Site code: CS1
2. ConfigMgr 2002 SP2 R2 on Primary site (child), SQL 2005, Windows 2008 R2, reporting to Central Site (CS1).
Site code PS2.
Problem is, package has stopped replicated. And when I view on some package, we havePS2 displayed as a distribution point on CS1, whereby under the PS2 itself the distribution point for the said package is empty!
There are alot of packages reporting the same. Should I do a repair to the site?
Please suggest me. Thanks alot!

SCCM 2007R3 Database size > 107 GB with only 800 clients
My SCCM 2007R3 SQL database has grown over 107GB in filesize. I only have about 800 clients so that is way too large.
The data in all SCCM tables is about 3GB and the indexes are about 700MB. When I do a backup of the database the size of the backup is > 100GB.
So why can't I reduce the size of the database to a reasonable amount? The disk is filling up this way and it makes the database/SCCM operations slow.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 R3 in a disjoint namespace environment
Hi all!!
I've been asked to install a primary ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 R3 site in an AD environment in which a disjoint namespace must be used and - since I've never dealt with this kind of configuration - I'd like to know some information :)
Supposing that the AD DNS name is "company.local" and the primary DNS suffix is "my.company.local", I'd like to know if:
1) the primary DNS suffix assigned to the ConfigMgr server can effectively be "my.company.local" or I must specify the AD DNS name as primary DNS suffix for the server
2) the FQDN name used for the management point role configuration must be configured with the disjointed DNS suffix or with the AD DNS name
3) there's any issue related to the usage of a disjointed namespace
If I'm not wrong, I've read somewhere that with a disjointed namespace some issue may arise with AD discovery. This should not be a problem for us because, as a final requirement, we won't be authorized to configure AD discovery, but only heartbeat discovery.
Thanks for any suggestion!

SCCM Client Push Installation Wizard does not install the client. CCMSetup folder - not created
Hello,
I have tried running the Client Push wizard for a single computer or a pilot collection of 8 computers, the result is always
the same - no SCCM client is installed on any computer.
The computers are running 32-bit Windows XP SP2.
The Windows firewall is disabled.
The client push installation account is setup and have domain admin and local admin privileges. Client Push automatic method
is not enabled.
The domain is AD WIndows 2000.
The SCCM server is running Windows 2003 R2 SP2 64bit Standard.
The AD schema has been extended.
MP, and SLP are installed and published. (MP is published in DNS as well.)
FSP is installed.
MP, SLP and FSP are running on the same server.
SQL 2005 server is running locally.
System management container is created and all rights and permissions delegated.
With the Push installation account I can access C$ share on the client computer from the SCCM server.
RPC, Remote registry, WMI services are running on the client machines.
All prerequisites are installed from the client folder on SCCM server- latest BITS 2.5, Windows installer 3.1 and MSXML6.
All computers are in the same IP subnet which is listed in the boundaries.
Yet, the client is not being installed.
No CCMSetup folder is created on the client machines in Windows\System32 folder, so it is really difficult to troubleshoot
what the is the issue. I do not see anything helpful in the ccm.log on the server.
I have tried running the CCMSetup.exe manually on one of the workstations and that was successful and reported back to the
SCCM server / console.
What else I should check / try? I really want to push agents via the wizard.
Thank you,
Peter
Error After Remove Secondary Site
Greetings,
The initial scenario is the following:
- SCCM 2007 SP2 R3.
- 1 Primary Site. 1 server (Win2008 R2 SP1)
- 1 Secondary Site. 1 sever (Win2003 R2 SP2)
Five days ago I have removed the secondary site using Add/Remove Programs in the Secondary Site server. I have removed using this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632423.aspx
The objects in AD (System Management) was removed successfully.
The secondary site was removed from the SCCM console.
The problem is in sender.log I have the following:

I need the procedure to completely and successfully remove the secondary site remainders.
Thanks in advance!

SQL Server sysadmin rights error when installing SCCM 2007
The account that i am trying to install SCCM 2007 has full rights on SQL Server
1) SCCM 2007 machine has local administrator rights on SQL Server
2) Also has sysadmin rights on SQL Server.
But still i am getting this error " SQL Server sysadmin rights"
Management Point installation failing
Property(S): SmsDetectColocationDowngrade_ErrorMessage = A newer version of the Configuration Manager Client is installed. Cannot continue installing this version of the management point.
I went and installed the SP2 client, and it installed fine. I then tried the MP install again, and it fails with the same error. Any Assistance is greatly appriciated.
Hold your breath, I'll be right back.
Moving from WSUS updates to SCCM; need help
We are in the process of moving to a SCCM 2007 for software updates. I am reviewing the otehr articles in the forum but wanted to post my own questions/concerns. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Current environment:
SCCM installed, topology setup but no updates synched and the only clients are on workstations and a handful of test servers.
A wsus box in each AD site (2008, built in WSUS)
SCCM VM lives in a data center with MPLS links to each AD site. Has seperate SQL box.
All the current WSUS servers are shown in the SITE SEREVRS of the SCCM console except the 'top' box they all pull updates from.
I'm working through a book and the SuperFlow for updates. We want to be able to push updates to servers and get reports about success failure across the enviornment.
the client installs look pretty quick and didn't require a reboot on the servers. Are there any gotchas on this? Has anyone had major issues with client pushes?
I'm confused about how the WSUS ties into the SCCM and what happens with the updates it already has on it.
I'd like to know more about the issues of moving to 2012 SCCM...? Anyone done it and have a report?
How difficult is it to make update packages for servers? Workstations? How about non MS software?
Is there a documented way to go form WSUS to SCCM for updates so I don;t reinvent the wheel?
Thanks again!
